Christmas Gift Guide 2021

Christmas is a special time of year. As a parent nothing is more rewarding then seeing the magic of Christmas through your children’s eyes! I have 10 and 8 year old boys, 4 year old daughter, and a 20 month old baby boy. Based on my mom experience I thought I would round up my all time FAVORITE toys and list them for you below. Kids Holiday Gifts:

Foamnasium Blocksy Mini Kids Couch: This set can be used as a sofa or play blocks for your kids. They can climb, build forts, or snuggle up and enjoy a movie or book. Comes in a few colors and I think it looks great in any playroom or family room.

Wooden Balance Board: This sturdy piece is great for open ended play. Children can rock, balance, climb, or use it for a car ramp. This board is good for 18 months and up and can hold over 300 lbs. My kids love using this when they play the floor is lava.

Kids Video Camera: Kids can record videos, use different frames and filters. You can use time lapse and time stamps on the videos. It is very user friendly and comes in a few different colors. Great for ages 3 and up and is affordable.

Wooden Climber– A climbing triangle with a ramp. My littles are all about this toy. They use it every day. They climb, slide, ride trucks down the ramp, and hide inside of it with a blanket over it. I highly recommend this if you have a toddler who loves to climb. My 4.5 year old loves it as well.

Gravity Game: Award winning gravity maze marble run game. This is a great way to keep them busy and get them thinking. I would suggest this game for harder to buy kids who are about 8 and up.

Electric Pin Ball: This arcade game is great for ages 6-10 ish. It can fit on a table or desk and is something different they can enjoy playing at home.

Toys Squigz: Ages 3 and up. ENCOURAGES CREATIVITY, EXPERIMENTATION, sensory stimulation; helps motor skills, problem solving. Keeps them engaged and busy. This are also fun to throw in a kids sensory bin.

Baby Sorter: If you have any baby on your list this toy is a fun one. They can play with the shapes and try and get them into the box. It’s also fun for preschoolers. Top rated toy.

Kids Iphone cell phone: This is great for 1-5ish. My two littles love this phone and fight over it so I had to order another one. It charges like a real iphone and it plays music and lights up. Is very affordable too!

Pop Tubes Sensory Toy: This toy makes a great stocking stuffer. It can be for babies and up. My 4 children played with these for hours on a long car ride we had this summer. They are a huge hit with all ages.

Shape Shifting Box: Fidget Toy: This cube is great for older kids who are hard to buy for. The cube transforms into over 70 shapes and comes highly rated. Ages 8 and up.

Brain Blocks: This STEM wooden block set it great for ages 2 and up. My kids play with this all the time. We have 2 sets and it is a very simple toy that will keep them busy and open up their imagination.

Kitchen Sink: A toy sink that you add water to and the water will continue to run. (Battery operated) This toy I feel like is famous because, I see so many moms say it keeps their toddlers busy. I got one for my toddler this Christmas.

Clack Kids Magnet Stacking Game: Ages 4 and up 2-6 players. This is a simple yet fun game for kids to play. You match colors and objects when you roll the dice and pick up the pieces in stacks because they are magnetic. My kids love this game.

Rocket Launcher: A toy rocket launcher that goes up to 100 feet. Perfect for ages 3 and up.

Baby Stroller : This stroller looks and works like a real one. It has buckles and folds down for easy storage.

Dining room refresh

I have always had a fantastic experience with Raymour & Flanigan. About 13 years ago, when my husband I first moved in together we purchased most of our furniture through their store. Then this past spring we did a master bedroom refresh and updated our bedroom furniture through their store as well. Our dining room has needed a makeover for awhile. Our old traditional furniture was a bit too dark for my taste. I wanted to replace the dining room furniture with something that had light wood tones and a more modern feel. The table and chairs appeared to be very durable and the color of the set was just what I was looking for!

A few days later, my daughter and I headed into our local Raymour & Flanigan to shop. The store is always a fun experience for us because the staff is very helpful and friendly. My daughter and I love walking around looking at all the beautiful pieces. When we first walked in, we found the table right away. I walked around a bit more to make sure there was nothing else that caught my eye. Then we found the Elmwood Park 2-pc. Buffet w/ Hutch and Lighting in the show room too. It was everything we needed. It was large, sturdy, and had plenty of storage for our dishware. It also had a wine rack and lighting. We added the Holly Bar Cart to our final order. I found it online and thought it would look perfect against the opposite wall of the hutch. I could not wait to get this entire set delivered to my home so, I could decorate!

Once I met with the store manger, I found out that delivery could literally be within 3 days! The delivery and set up were effortless. I received a text message in the AM that my delivery time frame was between 2pm-5pm. I was able to track the delivery truck right from my phone. When the truck pulled up to my driveway, the two men worked rather quickly to set up the entire dining room for us. They were fast and cleaned everything up. I look forward to creating many beautiful family memories in our new dining.

The before…. What an improvement the new furniture and fresh paint really brighten the room and give it a more modern airy feel!

School is in Session

Yay I finally have a minute to breathe with my 3 older children back in school! Hudson and Everett are currently in 4th and 3rd grade. My daughter, Winter is in preschool 4 full days a week. First Aid for the Family

Restful Night’s Sleep

Bedroom Furniture Makeover

When my husband and moved into our first home together we purchased all of our furniture from Raymour & Flanigan. We had a wonderful experience selecting our furniture from them. I loved the clean lines, effortless style, and sturdiness of the drawers. It was an added bonus that the bed has two drawers underneath it for storage. I also added the Playa Bedroom Chest. The top of this piece opens up with a mirror and compartment space for all of my jewelry and I added on an additional night stand from the set. My sales associate was a delight to work with. He helped me select two beautiful Ariga Glass Table Lamps, two wavy vases to style on the dresser, and Chantilly Lace I Wall Art that went with the look of my room perfectly.

Once we ordered everything, I was thrilled to learn that delivery would happen in 5 days from my ordering! The delivery and set up was a breeze. I received a call in the AM that my delivery would be coming by 2PM. When the truck pulled up my drive way, the two men worked rather quickly to set up the entire bedroom for us. They were fast, friendly, and did not leave a scratch or kick on any of my floors or walls. I plan on using Raymour & Flanigan in the future when we are ready to redo our dining room.

Bathroom Remodel

I never thought my bathroom would be my favorite room in my house, but I was wrong. Our master bathroom was low on the list of home updates because we knew it would be a total gut job. When finally redoing the bathroom become a reality, I started pinning bathrooms I loved on Pinterest for my inspiration. I realized the vibe I wanted was modern, bohemian/farmhouse. I wanted natural wood and a bright airy space. I fell in love with the idea of having a beaded light in the space. Once I knew I would use that in the bathroom everything else fell into place. The tile we decided on is white with some greyish/brownish veining. We went with black matte fixtures, a solid wood vanity, and a natural wood floating shelf/counter for my makeup and hair area. I added some boho decor and white floating shelves. I styled them with a plant and a macrame basket. I will link as much as I can below and I will also share the before pictures. You will be blown away with the transformation. Our contractor did an amazing job and I couldn’t be happier with this new space!
